Mapping links a source's property, room or meal-plan code to its matching catalog entry. Two suppliers may use different names for the same sea-view room. You compare their information and select the correct room record.
What can you match?
| Subject | What to do |
|---|---|
| Property records | Identify the same property across sources. |
| Rooms | Match a source room code to a room with the same capacity and features. |
| Features | Use consistent names for pools, parking, views and other features. |
| Meal plans | Match a code such as BB to bed and breakfast. |
| Property connections | Check which system exchanges information with the property. |
How do you review a match?
-
Select the source
Find the supplier sending the information and the record you want to match.
-
Compare the details
For a property, check its name, address and location. For a room, check capacity, bed layout and features.
-
Save the match
Select the correct entry. Do not match uncertain records just because their names look alike.
A match can be reused. The same source code identifies the same record in later updates. Review the mapping if the source code or product details change.
