The pricing engine calculates accommodation quotes from your saved prices and selling terms. For example, search Hotel Sunrise for two adults on a May weekend to review the available room prices, applicable promotions and payment conditions before booking.
What affects a quote
| Setting | What to review |
|---|---|
| Rate plan | The room price, meal plan and cancellation terms you want to sell. |
| Guests and dates | The room's capacity, the saved price of the adult count, the child rules, the dates and the length of the stay. |
| Promotions | The campaigns available to this guest and sales channel. |
| Sales terms | The agreed markup or commission and any minimum selling rate. |
| Currency and taxes | The quote currency, included charges and amounts payable separately. |
| Availability | Enough rooms and sale conditions that permit the stay. |
Changing a price, promotion or sales rule affects subsequent quotes. Review an updated quote before presenting it to a customer. Existing bookings retain their accepted terms.
How a night is priced
For each night of the stay the engine starts from the saved price of the party's adult count at the stay's length. Hotel Sunrise's Double Room has 200 EUR saved for two adults, so two adults pay 200 EUR for that night.
- A count without a saved price takes the nearest higher count's price. Above the highest priced count, each extra adult pays the extra adult charge, and without that charge the party is not offered.
- Children are priced after the adults by the child rules, unless a saved price already covers them.
- The stay's length picks the saved price: a price for seven nights or more applies to every night of a seven night stay and not to a six night stay.
- Ratios are never read here. They only help you type prices.
Price entry describes each case with examples.
Review a quote
Choose the property, dates and guests. Review the returned room options and their terms, then use prebook to check the selected offer before confirming. A changed price or unavailable room needs a new selection or review.
The calendar shows the prices you entered. A quote can differ because it applies the guest's dates, party and selling terms. Compare the same room, plan, dates, guests and currency when checking a difference.
Floor price
A floor price, also called the minimum selling rate, is an optional lower limit on the accommodation selling price for one night. Set it on the rate plan or the applicable sales rule in that plan's currency. Derived plans can inherit a floor from their parent.
The quote respects the highest applicable floor. A promotion may therefore give a smaller discount than its advertised percentage. Review the actual discount and selling price in the quote before opening sales.
The floor is not the amount to collect. Taxes, payment terms and a sub-agency's own retail price can affect the final amount due. Use the booking's payable total and payment schedule.
Net rate vs. commission
- Net rate + markup. The supplier provides a net rate and you set your permitted selling adjustment.
- Commission on gross. The supplier provides the guest-facing selling price and pays commission from that amount.
A percentage markup applies to the net after the promotions. A 40000 TRY net night with a 30% early booking promotion and a 3% markup sells at 28840 TRY: the promotion lowers the net to 28000 TRY and the markup adds 3% of it. The quote shows 41200 TRY, the price without the promotion, struck through and 30% off. A fixed markup stays the same with or without a promotion.
The rate plan determines the model. A sub-agency may add its own retail markup under its sales terms. See Distribution rules.
Multi-currency
Enter prices and fixed sales adjustments in the applicable plan currency. The quote can use another supported currency without changing the entered prices or granting access to additional plans. Without a requested currency, accommodation results use the property's default.
Review the returned currency and totals. A missing exchange rate or unsupported conversion is reported. For outbound price delivery, map each plan to a target contract in the same currency.
Reviewing a derived rate
Open the price explanation to review the information your access permits: the selected plan, applicable promotions, currency and related changes. Use the activity history to find the latest price change and who made it. The information available to a sub-agency or API partner follows its access rights.
