Room mapping links a supplier's room code to the correct room type at your property. For example, you can match DBL-SV to Sea-view double room. This identifies the room for incoming prices and bookings sent to the supplier.
What should you compare?
| Detail | Example check |
|---|---|
| Property | Do both room records belong to the same hotel? |
| Capacity | Do both accommodate two adults? Is child capacity the same? |
| Bed layout | One double bed or two separate beds? |
| View | Do both have a sea view? |
| Features | Do the balcony, kitchen and room size match? |
Do not decide from the name alone. Two sources using “Deluxe” may describe different rooms. A different capacity or bed layout can mean a different room type.
Match a room code
-
Find the source room
Read the supplier's room name, code and description.
-
Select the room at your property
Choose the room type with matching details. If none matches, check whether information is missing or the source describes a different room.
-
Save the match
Check the selected property, source and room code once more. This mapping is used for later price and booking operations.
When room details change
Review the mapping when a supplier sends a new code or changes capacity. Mapping identifies which room a code refers to; descriptions, images and amenities explain what that room offers. Check both together.
