Meal-plan mapping links a supplier code to the meals included in a stay. For example, BB means Bed and breakfast. A correct match makes clear which meals the price includes.
Common meal plans
| Plan | What is included |
|---|---|
| Room only | Accommodation without meals. |
| Bed and breakfast | Accommodation and breakfast. |
| Half-board | Breakfast and one main meal, usually dinner. |
| Full-board | Breakfast, lunch and dinner. |
| All-inclusive | The meals, drinks and services specified by the property. |
| Ultra all-inclusive | Extra services the property adds to its all-inclusive offering. |
A plan name does not explain every detail. Drinks, meal times and extra services can differ by property. Check the supplier's description of included services when matching a plan.
One plan can have several source codes
One supplier may use BB for bed and breakfast, another B&B, and another BREAKFAST_INCL. If their descriptions include the same services, these codes can match the same meal plan.
When an unfamiliar code arrives
-
Check the description
Find out which meals and services the source code includes.
-
Find the matching plan
Select the meal plan with the same inclusions. Do not use a different plan because its name looks similar.
-
Save the match
Make sure the supplier and code are correct. Ask the supplier for details if its description is unclear.
Bed and breakfast and half-board can have different prices for the same room. Check the meal plan separately even when the room mapping is correct.
